Clusters of respiratory morbidity Identification of clusters is based on data obtained daily from Maccabi and Clalit Health Services. The clusters are identified by focusing on two diagnostic categories: upper respiratory tract infections and pneumonia. Data analysis is performed based on statistical geographic areas. Furthermore, with respect to clusters that last for over a week, we are checking whether active COVID19 patients were identifies in the area at that time, based on data provided by the Ministry of Health. During week 26 and as of 27/06/2020, the areas with consistency in the presence of the clusters which lasted over 7 days, of the two diagnostic categories and on the basis of data from the two health funds, were: 8 Israel Center for Disease Control ICDC-Israel Center for Disease Control Ministry of Health Ministry of Health Gertner Institute, Chaim Sheba Medical Gertner Institute, Chaim Sheba Medical Center Center, Tel Hashomer 52621 [email protected] [email protected] Tel: 03-7371500 Fax: 03-5349881 Tel: 03-7371500 Fax: 03-5349881 Locations where Distric BEGIN DUR Number of patient with a distinct clusters t (sub- NING ATI positive SARS-CoV-2 sample in have been district OF THE ON the location and during the identified that ) CLUST OF cluster period persist for over 7 ER THE days CLU Total New in the STE number cluster’s period R (Prevalence) (Incidence) (Days) Atlit, Ein Carmel, Haifa 28-5-2020 30 0 0 Geva Carmel (Hadera) Taibeh Center 31-5-2020 27 7 7 (HaShar on) Tzur Yitzhak, Tzur Center 31-5-2020 27 0 0 Natan (Petach Tikva) Bnei Brak, Ramat Tel 2-6-2020 25 81 79 Gan Aviv Shefaram, Adi North 8-6-2020 19 11 11 (Acre) Jadeidi-Makr, Tal North 12-6-2020 16 5 5 AlKfar Yassif (Acre) Rahat * South 17-6-2020 10 126 87 (Be’er Sheva) * A renewed cluster after a short interval of a long cluster detected in Rahat between 6-5-2020 and 13-6-2020 9 Israel Center for Disease Control ICDC-Israel Center for Disease Control Ministry of Health Ministry of Health Gertner Institute, Chaim Sheba Medical Gertner Institute, Chaim Sheba Medical Center Center, Tel Hashomer 52621 [email protected] [email protected] Tel: 03-7371500 Fax: 03-5349881 Tel: 03-7371500 Fax: 03-5349881 7. Sentinel clinics in the community Sentinel clinic activity for surveillance of morbidity caused by SARS-CoV-2 began on week 12. As of Week 26, the network includes 47 clinics nationwide. Nasopharyngeal samples are taken from patients attending clinics with fever and/or respiratory symptoms with or without a diagnosis of pneumonia and with no known exposure to a confirmed COVID-19 patient or returning from a foreign country in the 14 days prior to onset. In addition, for patients who do not physically come to the clinic but rather consult their physician using digital technology methods, exhibiting respiratory symptoms and/or fever and without an epidemic story, the sample is collected by Magen David Adom (MDA) Emergency Services. 7.1.
