The men and women of the New York National Guard continued to answer the call of our nation, as they have done for over a decade. More than 1,700 service members were mobilized to meet our national security objectives during 2014. We also supported New York State by providing security during the holidays and mobilized forces for January’s polar vortex and November’s lake effect snows. New York National Guard members serve tirelessly to meet the needs of our citizens, even in the face of defense budget uncertainty.
