Soil names and descriptions were approved in 1966. Unless otherwise indicated, statements in this publication refer- to conditions in the county in 1966. This survey was made cooperatively by the Soil Conservation Service and the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey, Soils Department, and the Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station, University of Wisconsin. It is part of the technical assistance furnished to the Walworth County Soil and Water Conservation District. The fieldwork that is the basis for this soil survey was partly financed. by the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission; by a joint planning grant from the State Highway Commission of Wisconsin; by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Public Roads; and by the Department of Housing and Urban Development under the provisions of the Federal Aid to Highways legislation and section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended.
