Kyle Freeland took a no-hit bid through 8.1 innings until allowing a single to Melky Cabrera with one out in the ninth inning … the 8.1 no-hit innings are the most by any Rockies pitcher at Coors Field and second-most by any pitcher at Coors Field behind Hideo Nomo’s no-hitter on Sept. 17, 1996 as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers … Freeland’s 8.1 no-hit innings are the second-most by a Rockies pitcher in any ballpark behind Ubaldo Jimenez’ no-hitter on April 17, 2010 at Atlanta (the only no-hitter in Rockies history) … threw a career-high 126 pitches, the most for a Rockies starter since Ubaldo Jimenez threw 126 pitches on Aug. 27, 2010 vs. Los Angeles-NL … his nine strikeouts were a career high. Charlie Blackmon recorded his 20th home run of the season to extend his hitting streak to eight games … has now recorded his second season with 20 or more home runs (also: 29 home runs in 2016), his first time recording 20 prior to the All-Star break … is batting .394 (13-for-33) over his hitting streak. Carlos González batted seventh today, the lowest he has batted in the order since batting eighth on Aug. 13, 2009 vs. Pittsburgh. Gerardo Parra went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI … has now recorded multiple hits in seven of his last 15 games and three or more hits in five … his three runs scored tie his season high (also: May 28 vs. St. Louis) … batting .535 (23-for-43) over his last 15 games. Mark Reynolds walked a season-high tying three times (3x, last: June 25 at Los Angeles-NL) … his three runs scored were also a season high (2x, last: May 9 at Chicago-NL). Pat Valaika recorded a career-high five RBI (previous: four, May 14 vs. Los Angeles-NL). White Sox Notes The Chicago White Sox have now lost seven of their last 10 road games … were held to one hit for the second time this season (also: April 15 at Minnesota). Carlos Rodón pitched 5.1 innings, allowing six runs on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts … his six runs allowed are a season high and his most since also allowing six on Sept. 19, 2016 at Kansas City. José Abreu had his nine-game hitting streak snapped … batted .351 (13-for-37) over that span. Melky Cabrera snapped Kyle Freeland’s no-hit bid with a one-out single in the ninth inning.
