Customizing Chrome

Customizing Chrome: Turning on the Bookmarks Bar Welcome to the Google Chrome for Mesa Public Schools video tutorial series. This tutorial is titled Customizing Chrome - Turning on the Bookmarks Bar and is intended to provide a brief overview of how to change Chrome’s default behavior and display the Bookmarks Bar at the top of the browser window. The bookmarks bar provides a place to access and manage your bookmarked web pages. If you work on the same computer regularly, this can be a very handy feature to have available at all times. To enable the bookmarks bar in Google Chrome, click on the icon to the right of the address bar, in the upper right-hand corner of the window, and hover the mouse over “Bookmarks”. From the slide out menu, select “Show Bookmarks Bar...”. There are two ways to add bookmarks to the Bookmarks Bar. One way is to click in the address bar when you are on a web page you want to bookmark, and while holding the mouse button, drag the address to the Bookmarks bar. Another way to add bookmarks is to click on the “star” icon in the right-hand corner of the address bar. You will receive a drop-down menu that will allow you to rename the bookmark and to place the bookmark in a folder on the Bookmarks Bar. To close the menu, select “Done”. You can right-click on a bookmark to open a menu with special options for using that specific bookmark. Right-clicking on the Bookmarks Bar will open a menu with special options for interacting with all of your bookmarks. To organize your bookmarks or group your bookmarks into folders, use the Bookmark Manager. The Bookmark Manager can be accessed at anytime from the Chrome menu or by right-clicking on the Bookmarks Bar. We hope you have found this tutorial helpful.
