MATTERS RAISED WITH PERMISSION 1. 2nd July, 2009:— (i) Shri Arun Jaitley raised a matter regarding alleged influencing of the judiciary by a Union Minister. Shrimati Brinda Karat and Dr. V. Maitreyan also spoke. (ii) Shri Prasanta Chatterjee raised a matter regarding price hike of petrol and diesel in the country. Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu also spoke. (iii) Shri Santosh Bagrodia raised a matter regarding sale of adulterated milk and other products in the country. Shri Prabhat Jha also spoke. (iv) Shri Moinul Hassan raised a matter regarding demand to place on the Table the Liberhan Commission Report. (v) Shri D. Raja raised a matter regarding increase in the consumer price index, despite fall in inflation rate. 2. 3rd July, 2009:— (i) Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy raised a matter regarding scarcity of drinking water in Darjeeling. (ii) Shri Shreegopal Vyas raised a matter regarding need to open a sub-centre of the new mechanism to check the naxalite violence in Chhattisgarh. (v) Shri Brij Bhushan Tiwari raised a matter regarding derogatory remarks made against Mahatma Gandhi by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. (vi) Dr. T. (ii) Shri Ali Anwar Ansari raised a matter regarding availability of the Report of the Ranganath Mishra Commission. (iii) Shrimati Mohsina Kidwai raised a matter regarding widespread trafficking of humans in the country, specially in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. (iv) Shri Shantaram Laxman Naik raised a matter regarding demand to amend the Coastal Regulation Zone Notification 1991 to save the demolition of the houses of the fishermen community. (ii) Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy raised a matter regarding demand to grant relief package to people displaced by floods in Kosi river. (iii) Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav raised a matter regarding violence and obscenity in media. (iv) Shri Praveen Rashtrapal raised a matter regarding liquor tragedy in Gujarat. (v) Shri Prasanta Chatterjee raised a matter regarding demand to lower the prices of petrol and diesel. (vi) Shri Bharatkumar Raut raised a matter regarding delay in the arrival of Monsoon. (vii) Shri Prakash Javadekar raised a matter regarding acceptance by G8 plus 5 countries and India to complete WTO Doha round by 2010. (viii) Shri S. S. Ahluwalia raised a matter regarding circulation of fake currency notes in the country. 5. 13th July, 2009:— (i) Shrimati Brinda Karat raised a matter regarding alleged interference in the functioning of the Central Information Commission. (ii) Shri Nand Kishore Yadav raised a matter regarding lathi-charge on lawyers in Uttar Pradesh. (iii) Shri Brij Bhushan Tiwari raised a matter regarding incident of a woman paraded naked in Agra. (iv) Shri S.S. Ahluwalia raised a matter regarding non-disclosure of facts by the Government relating to the death of the former Prime Minister, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. (v) Shri Tapan Kumar Sen raised a matter regarding fatal accidents at work places in different parts of the country. (vi) Dr.(Smt.) Najma A. Heptulla raised a matter regarding refusal to transfer the enriching and reprocessing technology by G-8 countries. (ii) Shri Saman Pathak raised a matter regarding situation arising due to strike in Darjeeling called by GJMM. (iii) Shri Rajeev Shukla raised a matter regarding sale of illicit liquor in Gujarat causing death of many persons. (iv) Shri Veer Pal Singh Yadav raised a matter regarding building of bunkers by Pakistan on India-Pakistan border. (v) Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy raised a matter regarding demand for intervention of Government to restore the disrupted road transport in Sikkim. 7. On the 17th July, 2009, Shri Arun Jaitley, Leader of the Opposition, raised a matter regarding Prime Minister’s reported agreeing to resumption of composite dialogue without linking the matter to the Mumbai terrorist attack in the talks between the Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan at Sharm-al-Sheikh. 8. 20th July, 2009:— (i) Shri M.V. Mysura Reddy raised a matter regarding alleged irregularities in the functioning of the AICTE. (ii) Shri Nand Kishore Yadav raised a matter regarding reported firing at army recruitment centre in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. Shri Kalraj Mishra also spoke. (iii) Shri Ali Anwar Ansari raised a matter regarding reported shifting of Patna BHEL office to Durgapur in West Bengal. (iv) Shri Tapan Kumar Sen raised a matter regarding regional imbalance in the distribution of natural gas. (v) Shri P. Rajeeve raised a matter regarding flood situation in Kerala. Prof. P.J. Kurien also spoke. (vi) Shri D. Raja raised a matter regarding reported scam in rice import. Shri Balbir Punj also spoke. 9. On the 21st July, 2009, Shri Prabhat Jha raised a matter regarding reported humiliation of the former President, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Shri Ram Gopal Yadav, Shri Prakash Javadekar, Shri Balbir Punj, Shrimati Jayanthi Natarajan, Shri Sitaram Yechury, Shri Tiruchi Siva, Shri D. Raja, Dr. V. Maitreyan, Shri Birendra Prasad Baishya, Shri Janeshwar Mishra and Shri Arun Jaitley, Leader of the Opposition, also spoke. 10. 22nd July, 2009:— (i) Shri Kamal Akhtar raised a matter regarding obscenity and vulgarity in various reality shows on different T.V. channels. (ii) Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad raised a matter regarding reported failure of the CBI to charge-sheet the accused in an irregularity in the Ordnance Factory Board. Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministries of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences; Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of State in the Ministries of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Parliamentary Affairs, responded. (iii) Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu raised a matter regarding massive loss incurred by the Spices Trading Corporation Limited. Shri Anand Sharma, Minister of Commerce and Industry, responded. 11. 23rd July, 2009:— (i) Shri Kalraj Mishra raised a matter regarding disappearance of children from various cities. (ii) Shri Prasanta Chatterjee raised a matter regarding Metro Rail services from Tollygunge to Garia in Kolkata.
