Carbine Club member Mike Stanley spoke from his perspectve as NZOC President providing a number of facts, figures and insights into the logistics of sending the team. This was followed by fellow Carbine Club member and Rio Chef de Mission, Rob Waddell speaking about his role as Chef de Mission and the behind the scenes work to ensure the competitors had the best possible environment within which to operate. He also spoke of New Zealand’s legacy to children of one of the Brazilian favelas. Mike Stanley then interviewed pole vaulter, Eliza McCartney, her coach, Jeremy McColl, weightlifter Tracey Lambrechs, her coach, Dr Adam Storey, runner Lucy Oliver and sailor Gemma Jones. It was fascinating to hear memorable aspects of the Games from each of the athletes and coaches and their future plans.
