With many new initiatives underway and several exciting projects on the horizon, the Museum is well positioned to thrive Held each August in Saratoga’s Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion, this celebration honors the lifetime achievements moving forward. It is a mission we will always remain dedicated to. 2019 Hall of Fame induction ceremony recap: The Museum welcomed its newest class of Hall of Fame inductees on Friday, Aug. 3, 2019. The inductees included Craig Perret, Royal Delta, Waya, My Juliet, James The Museum has offered several exciting and educational exhibits in recent years, includingWomen in Racing, E. “Ted” Bassett, Christopher T. Chenery, Richard L. “Dick” Duchossois, William S. Farish, John Hettinger, which celebrates the monumental accomplishments and the role of women in our sport. The exhibit has been James R. Keene, Frank E, “Jimmy” Kilroe, Gladys Mills Phipps, Ogden Phipps, Helen Hay Whitney, Marylou tremendously successful and provided great visibility for the Museum. Whitney, and Warren Wright, Sr. Tom Durkin served as the event’s master of ceremonies. Several other initiatives are also creating a lot of excitement at the Museum. They include the continued success Panel Discussions: Free panel discussions with racing experts and industry insiders are presented periodically of Foal Patrol, a one-of-a-kind website designed with the support of The Jockey Club and Keeneland where fans in the Hall of Fame such as the Countdown to the Triple Crown, Travers Preview, Countdown to the Breeders’ can get up close and personal with mares and their foals via live web cameras. The program has reached people Cup, and Saturday Morning Socials. in 37 countries and draws more than one million views across its various media platforms annually. We are excited to renew the project for another year with the third season beginning in late 2019. As we look toward the future, we are dedicated to continuing to enhance and expand our multimedia efforts, including our website and social media outreach to complement our new, best-in-class Hall of Fame that will open in the summer of 2020 and be a must-see attraction in Saratoga Springs. The Museum has been a vital component of the Saratoga community since its founding in 1950 and has served a crucial role in racing through its mission of chronicling and promoting the sport. Hendrickson President, National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame HALL OF FAME EDUCATION EXPERIENCE The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame embarked on a new project in August of 2018 called The Hall of Fame Education Experience, the goals of which are to: · Draw visitors into the incredible experience of Thoroughbred racing. · Inspire visitors with the deep level of mastery required of jockeys, trainers, and owners even to be com petitive in the sport. · Magically transport visitors into the presence of the greatest of the greats at a transformative moment in the story. · Motivate visitors to continue their exploration through the Museum and to share their enthusiasm long after their visit. · Set the bar for dramatic and immersive interactive experiences throughout the Museum. HALL OF FAME These goals will be accomplished through a larger than life cinematic experience that will inspire visitors’ emotional engagement with the story — a thrilling exploration of the question, "What does it take to be among the greatest of the greats, to be a member of the National Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame?". The show will unfold as progressively larger screens descend into the middle of the space, building to the moment when full 360° projections surround the audience, literally placing the visitor in the middle of the story. As the film closes, large-scale monitors placed around the room come to life with portraits of Hall of Famers. Here, visitors come eye-to-eye with every inductee and can delve deeply into stories about some of the most Nominating Committee famous horses and individuals in the sport. Edward L. By the end of 2018, $7,848,450.06 was received in pledges towards Historical Review Selection Committee this goal.
