It has also been working hard to fulfil its mission of Social Transformation through Dynamic Education. For this the University has been making concerted efforts to create global citizens possessing sound knowledge, skill and morals. At University of Kota, we are committed to provide excellent education, practical training and other facilities to support the all round development of the students and instil in them the qualities most suited for the vocation that is planned to be pursued after formal education in the University. To achieve this, the University has also continuously updated its courses and syllabi. Success in life will depend on how one can motivate oneself to completely get rid of the burdens of past and make the best out of present. We should maintain a harmony between our heart, hand and head along with the deep sense of responsibility that allow to execute the action that would lead us to embrace changes and stepping into the new journey toward the world outside the campus. At present the University students are engaged in more than forty educational programmes that foster their curiosity, inculcate critical thinking, innovation and acquire professional skills. This is the need of the hour and the academicians and staff of the University are committed to provide the right impetus for realizing the above goals. The University came into existence through enactment of Government of Rajasthan vide order No. F.21(2)Edu-4/2003 dated September 9, 2003 under the provision of section 4(1) of ‘The University of Kota Act, 2003. The University has been included in the list of Universities under the section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 through vide notification No. F.9-23/2003(CPP-I) dated February 23, 2004 and finally received Central Assistance in terms of rules framed under section 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956 as per Decision of Commission (item No.5.17) through vide notification No. F.9- 23/2003(CPP-I/PU) dated November 05, 2012. Recently, in the September 2017, the University has been accredited by the NAAC and awarded with grade "B". The University have been recognized at national level by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India by awarding the 78th Rank in INDIA RANKING 2016 and including in 151- 200 Rank Band in INDIA RANKING 2017. Presently, six districts of the state namely Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar, Baran, Sawai Madhopur and Karauli are under the territorial jurisdiction of the University. The University has six faculties, namely Arts, Commerce & Management, Education, Law, Science and Social Science. Almost forty academic programmes are being run at the campus and the affiliated colleges of the University. These courses are: B.Sc. (Pass Course) Bio. & Maths. Groups, B.Sc. (Hons.) Physics, M.Sc. Chemistry (with specializations in Organic Chemistry & Analytical Chemistry), M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry, M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Mathematics, M.Sc. Botany, M.Sc. Zoology, M.Sc. Life Science, M.Sc. Wildlife Science, M.Tech. Solar Energ), M.A./M.Sc. Geography, M.A. Development Studies, M.A. Heritage, Tourism, Museuology & Archaeology, M.Com. Accounting & Finance, M.B.A., M.B.A.-I.B., M.C.A., M.S.W., M.P.Ed., LL.M., M.Phil. The University is also offering diploma in Culture & History of Rajasthan and certificate course in Tourist Guide. Furthermore, University has established five Shodhpeeths (Research Centers) i.e. Swami Vivekananad Shodhpeeth, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Shodhpeeth, , Vanshavali Lekhan Prospectus : 2018-2019 8 University of Kota, Kota evam Bhartiya Parampara Adhyayan Shodhpeeth, Pandit Dindayaal Upadhyay Shodhpeeth and Sindhu Adhyayan Shodhpeeth. The University had many national and international MoUs ( e.g. Centre for Climate Science & Policy Research, Linköping University, Sweden, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Manila and Academic Staff College, DCM Shriram Consolidated Limited, Kota, Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur) and research projects sponsored by Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, Newton Fund, Engineering and Physical Science Research Council, UK, Global Challenges Research Fund, Centre for Climate Science & Policy Research, Sweden, etc. to work in collaboration with UK- and Sweden- based Universities along with Indian funding agency DST, UGC, ICSSR, DST-FIST, etc. In continuation of upgrading the research quality, various national and international collaborators / research groups regularly visit the different departments of the University to give their suggestions / inputs. The University is determined for meaningful and socially relevant research in the thrust areas of respective disciplines and runs PhD programmes as per the latest UGC guidelines. The University departments are regularly organizing state and national level workshops, seminars, conferences and publishing their research articles in the journals / books / book chapters of national and international repute (Elsevier, John Wiley, Taylor and Francis, Springer, Nova, etc ). Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry of the University has two national and one international patents in their name and many more are under process of to be granted. University is also recognized by the Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. At present, the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Administrative Block, Examination Block, Academic Blocks, Sports Complex, Boys Hostel, Vice Chancellor’s Residence and Guest House are in the campus. One more Academic Block, Students' Union Secretariat, Central Library, etc. are under construction process. The University is taking steps towards for its future growth as a multi-departments, multi-faculties organization with an unstinted emphasis
