INTRODUCTION OF THE PROJECT/PROPONENT This proposal is for Basalt Stone Quarry with quarry permit of M/s SADBHAV ENGINEERING LTD. in an extent of 4.91 Hectare of Survey No – 72,73,74,79 part ( Palsa), 119 Part Baradshewala in Palsa & Baradshewala Village, Hadgaon Taluk, Nanded District, Maharashtra State. M/s SADBHAV ENGINEERING LTD. is road contractor firm and intend to produce stone metal chips for building/construction of National Highway 161 from Medshi to Nanded in Nanded District .The NHAI issued work order to M/s SADBHAV ENGINEERING LTD. for four laning of NH-161 vide letter NHAI/Tech/Medshi washim/PATSC/2017/115328 dated 27 March 2018 Environmental management plan (EMP) is prepared for formulation, implementation and monitoring of environmental protection measures during and after commissioning of projects. The EMP is prepared taking into consideration various project activities and related environmental impacts covering entire project area and other areas outside the project site, which can be affected due to the proposed mining activities. It has to be ensured during planning stage that all the environmental standards will be complied while execution of the project activities. Mitigation measures at the source level and an overall management plan at the project area level are required so as to improve the environmental scenario of the area. Toposheet – 47 M/5 2.0- EXISTING LAND-USE PATTERN :- 2.1 Physiography /Topography Physiographically the major part of Maharashtra comprises an ancient plateau exposed for long ages to denudation and approaching pen plantation. Its mountain system is of the relict type. Important mountain system is Western ghat or Shayadri hills ranging south to north parallel to the coast almost the entire length of Maharashtra state which general elevation of 4000m above the sea level , some of the peaks in the Western ghat attend a high of 900m to 4000m. They comprises vast thickness of lava flow and almost horizontally spread. The second most important hill range is the Melghat range which is the branch of Satpura hill range. The Satpura also from the northen portion of the state falling in Aurangabad and Dhule district. This also comprises horizontally disposed lava flows with lesser height than western ghat. The important river taking their origin in the Wsteren ghat flowing in an Easterly direction are Godavari and Krishna.
