Muswell Hill and Highgate

4.10. Area 6: Muswell Hill and Highgate This western area of the borough includes Alexandra Palace, Fortis Green, Muswell Hill and Highgate. These areas have a largely residential character but are home to a number of lively town centres and elegant shopping parades, as well as some of Haringey’s best natural and cultural assets, including Alexandra Palace. The Highgate Neighbourhood Plan was made (adopted) by the Council in July 2017 and forms part of the borough’s statutory Development Plan. The Plan, prepared by the Highgate Neighbourhood Forum, sets out the Forum’s vision for Highgate to 2031 and contains core objectives relating to social and community needs, economic activity, traffic and transport, open spaces and public realm and development and heritage. The Council will have regard to these when preparing the New Local Plan.
