About the Publisher: Praeger is a well-established, well-respected publisher known for serious books. PLEASE RESPOND TO [email protected] Book Description: This concept was inspired by a desire to investigate how things have changed from Lucy and Ethel in I Love Lucy to the modern-day Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (or Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph in Bridesmaids, etc.) We are envisioning a single- volume collection of essays that explores various depictions of female friendship in any area of popular culture: film, television, music, literature, advertising, social media, etc. We are open to proposals addressing anything from the 1940s on, and at this stage, our concept is open. We want to give the contributors room to use their own creativity and research to form new ideas, but we do favor chapters with wide scopes, addressing multiple examples within each chapter.
