I hope you are not offended at this invasion of your privacy and I hope you can help me. A few years ago, Drake Well Museum acquired a photographic collection from a former Pennzoil employee which includes a number of images of you and others as “Penny Pennzoil.” You’re beautiful! In fact, we would like to create a life-size cut-out figure of you for our new exhibits. I have enclosed the image we would like to use to create this figure which we plan to install in the “Marketing Oil” section of the exhibit. Do you mind? The idea of having life-sized figures for the exhibit started this search for the identity of different Penny Pennzoils. Drake Well staff wanted to identify the people whose images we would enlarge for the new exhibits and receive their permission if we can (most figures are from the 1800s). Unfortunately, few of the images are identified in the Pennzoil photograph collection, but I have enclosed photocopies of some images in hope that you can identify the people. Did you know any of the other models who played “Penny Pennzoil”? Did Pennzoil advertise the job or just contract with a modeling agency? Did Pennzoil provide your travel arrangements or did you have to pay for your flights? Did you visit Drake Well Museum when you were in Oil City?
