NWA Trust Sports Competition Programme We have again be working closely with the other schools within the Academy Trust to provide competitive sporting opportunities for our children. Swimming each and every week has been fantastic for the children with regards to developing their water confidence, stamina and stroke technique. OUTCOME– increasing children’s levels of participation • Percentage of Year 6 pupils who can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres? – 95.8% • Percentage of Year 6 pupils who can use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]? – 95.8% • Percentage of Year 6 pupils who could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations? – 100% • Percentage of children (Reception – Year 6) who swim weekly at Delamere Academy? – 100% PE/ Sports Visitors and Trips • USA Rugby 7’s Team visit (whole school assembly and coaching session) • Swim Safe sessions at Liverpool Watersports Centre (Pickmere & Linmere) • British Gymnastics Championships trip at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool • Warrington Wolves Rugby League coaching sessions for Blakemere & Nunsmere • Children’s Mental Health Week – all classes took part in Stretch & Relaxation and Zumba sessions • ECB Chance 2 Shine Cricket Coaching sessions (Sandymere, Blakemere, Nunsmere & Pickmere) • Netball World Cup trip at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool School Games PLATINUM Mark We were awarded a School Games PLATINUM Mark after achieving the Gold Mark for FIVE years in row. The Platinum Mark is awarded to schools who have maintained consistently high standards with their school sports provision. As part of the extended application we were asked to submit a detailed case study along with a supporting paragraph from our School Games Organiser (SGO). PE and Sport Premium Spend The PE and Sport Premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. In 2018-19 we will receive £16,000 and an additional £10 per pupil giving us a total of £17,670.
