Annual Report 2015-16 In the name of ALLAH, I present the annual report of Ansar Women’s College for the academic year 2015-2016. First of all, I thank Allah the Almighty for the best academic achievement of the college. Ansar Women’s college, affiliated to the University of Calicut established in the year 2002 is run by Ansari Charitable Trust. At present we have 12 UG and 4 PG Courses. We have 1034 Students, 76 Teachers and 15 Non-teaching staff. This team of energetic students and dedicated staff members are the backbone of our prestigious institution. We have a spacious library with 10754 books including 6 newspapers, 11 journals, 20 periodicals & 6 Departmental Journals published by the college. The automation of the library is progressing. The college has a website- ansarwomenscollege.com. Congratulations to the department of Computer Science for developing and updating the website. With God’s blessing we have the powerful leadership of Ansari Charitable Trust to lead us. Thus, our mission of transforming every student into a full-fledged citizen having both moral and academic values is progressing. ACHIEVEMENTS New Courses BSc. Psychology and BCom Taxation were introduced during this academic year. MoU’s and Collaborations We have signed 3 MoU’s and has made agreement with 4 institutions to collaborate in the fields of knowledge and resource sharing. Scholarships Scholarship Cell updated the information related to various Scholarships. 174 students received various Government Scholarships like Post Metric, Central Sector, Lakshwadeep, SC/ST Scholarship. 336 students received various Scholarships and Free ships from the Institution. University Examination Results 2014-15 of various courses BSc. Computer Science scored 86.21%, BCA scored 90.47%, BA English scored100%, BSc Physics scored 64.5%, BCom scored 100%, BBA scored 90%, MSc Physics scored 100%, MCom. scored 98%, MSc Computer Science scored 100%, & BSc. College Union and Arts Festival Inauguration Inauguration of the College Union “Estrellas”, Fine Arts and New Courses was held on 13th Oct 2016 in the honorable presence of Chief Guest Mr.Yahia.P (Operations Manager, Royal Engineering College, Akkikavu) and Ms.Shika(Playback Singer). Mr.Yahia.P congratulated our institution for conducting the college election in the presidential way and also empowered the students with his valuable words. The open house meeting was conducted on 27th July 2015. Parents of first year students attended the meeting in connection with the formation of the executive body. The Executive Committee meeting was held on 18th Sep 2015. The academic & non-academic activities were discussed in the meeting. The parents ensured their full support and cooperation for the smooth and effective functioning of the college. Fine Arts Hostel Ninety-six students were accommodated in the college hostel during this academic year. Ms. Sabira and Ms. Nusaiba were working as Dorm Parents. Two Ayahs were there to assist them. The hostel students had gone on a two-day trip to Mysore. Hostel day and Farewell to Seniors by Juniors was held on 16th February 2016. Journal Publications In the Academic year 2015-16 each Department of the college published their Journals with the articles of both students and faculty members. The entire layout and DTP have been done by the departments. The Department of Computer Science had published two volumes of their journals this year. Alumni Meet of the students of the batch 2002 to 2015 was held on 8th October 2016. Ms. Sreeja P (Asst. Professor Department of Commerce and Management Studies, S.N.G.S College, Pattambi) was the chief guest of the day. The program started with a prayer followed by a welcome song by the college Music Club. An Executive Committee was selected to put forward the Alumni activities in the coming years. Annual Sports Meet Annual Sports Meet was conducted on 15th February 2016. The meet was inaugurated by Dr.Nisar (Director, Ansar Hospital, Perumpilavu; Football Player and Athlete.) Study Tour During this year a study tour was conducted to Mysore & Kodak comprising 27 students & 4 staff. Staff Tour: A staff tour was conducted on 13th February to Eranakulam. Food Fest Flavours Fest was conducted on 12th November by the College Union in collaboration with Ashwas club. Rs.31,173 was collected as profit. The maximum amount was collected by BSc.Psychology (Rs.2,241) and BCom Tax (2910 Rs/-). Ashwas Club collected 3500 Rs/- Relief Works: We have collected money to make some beneficial work for the student community, for marriage of poor people, pain & palliative care, house constructions, accident relief etc.
