Ron Jones About the Artist A prolific composer, Ron Jones has over forty-thousand compositions to his name. Ron’s work can be heard on soundtracks to many popular TV series such as Family Guy, Star Trek: The Next Generation, American Dad and many more. He has been the recipient of many important industry awards including four Emmy Nominations, a Grammy Nomination and several ASCAP/BMI film and television awards. As a professional composer for over 40 years, Ron spent 37 of those years working on Hollywood film and television scores. He leads an all-star big band in Los Angeles accompanied by Seth MacFarlane and other top artists, playing to sold-out clubs and venues. Ron recently conducted the London Philharmonic at Royal Albert Hall as part of the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek. For the last three years, Ron has been building a new production and scoring facility north of Seattle called SkyMuse Studios. At SkyMuse, Ron recently completed the music for Fight for Space (2016) including the post production audio, scoring and final 5.1 surround sound. He founded the Academy of Scoring Arts, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles with a dedication to education in the field of scoring music for media with groups in New York, Toronto and beyond. Vitally interested in passing on what he has learned, Ron teaches special classes, gives workshops and speaks to colleges and universities. Ron leads Master Class Series at SkyMuse Studios by presenting world-class experts and artists who share with the creative community in the Pacific Northwest. Active in creating new scores and sonic landscapes, Ron continues composing, arranging and producing in addition to leading the 12-piece, all-star band, Jazz Forest. By fusing film scoring, orchestral arranging, pop energy and staying true to the art form of jazz, Jazz Forest expands the entire concept of presenting creative music. It’s all about presenting stellar arrangements with the best players performing it to ultimately give listeners music that stirs their emotions, strikes their intelligence and moves their soul. About the Ensemble From the creative imagination of award-winning Hollywood film and TV composer Ron Jones (Family Guy, American Dad, Star Trek: TNG and many more), comes the next great band – Jazz Forest. Jazz Forest is not only a powerhouse of musical talents, but an evolution of the conception of what a jazz ensemble is. The differences between the typical way of doing things and what Jazz Forest presents is vast. Most importantly, we put the audience first. With many options for music and entertainment today, jazz needs to compete with a wide stream of distractions. We bring the finest players together to perform exciting compositions and arrangements, all with professionally produced sound and lighting. A Jazz Forest performance makes any evening a wonderful night to remember. Jazz Forest is taking this creative music form forward with an eclectic palette of tunes, with everything spanning from the standards to newly created works. Additionally, we’re forging a new genre by bringing together live film scoring and jazz performance to create a fusion of visual and aural sensations – we call it “Cinematic Jazz”. We’re currently working with producers on creating films to perform this music both live and in concert.
