While that may be true in many ways, he’s not an EX anything. He’s Gordon Haskell, singer song writer storyteller. After watching the interview portion, I became more enlightened to what the man and musician, Gordon is all about. It was an eye opener to hear that he doesn’t have fond memories of his time in King Crimson. In fact he says it was a mistake but a mistake that had to be done to be where he is now. Fast forward to now with Gordon’s first DVD release The Road To Harry’s Bar. The music is unlike what I’ve heard Gordon do before, which makes me want to explore his solo music more. The music that Gordon does on this dvd is a sophisticated adult "Jazz-Pop". The dvd concert is a 18-song performance and proof that unlike most from his era, he stays true to his musical convictions. Since his musical beginnings in 1966, Haskell survived his ups and downs by doing things his way. The performance on this DVD shows this perfectly. The main show was recorded on June 28th 2005, in Katowice, at Teatr im. St. Wyspianskiego (Wyspianski Theater). The extras on the dvd are the aforementioned interview and music videos. I would recommend this DVD to the true music connoisseur and not the casual fan. http://www.geocities.com/prognaut/reviews/gordon-haskell-dvd.html 2/21/2006 Gordon Haskell - "The Road To Harry's Bar" DVD Review Page 2 of 2 While the music isn’t complex, it is unlike anything done in many years.... it’s actually music from the heart and soul.
