X107.5’s “Our Big Concert” Thursday, May 28 6 p.m.; Doors at 5 p.m. Tickets: $40 GA Cage the Elephant Rock band Cage the Elephant, consisting of singer Matt Shultz, guitarist Brad Shultz, bassist Daniel Tichenor and drummer Jared Champion, released its single “Free Love” in late 2007. The following year, the group released its debut self-titled album to commercial and critical success. In 2012, the band followed up the album with the release of their second album Thank You Happy Birthday featuring the hit single, “Shake Me Down.” Shortly after, the band took a brief hiatus before getting back together in August of 2012 to begin working on its third album Melophobia. In 2014, the album received a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. Dirty Heads In 2003, punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (Duddy B) and rapper Jared Watson (Dirty J) came together to produce infectious and positive music. Shortly after, percussionist Jon Olazabal joined the duo to form Dirty Heads. As a trio, the group started playing shows together and growing its fan base before signing to Warner Bros. Before the group could finish its debut album, Dirty Heads decided to leave the label. In 2008, the group released their debut album Any Port in a Storm featuring the hit track “Lay Me Down.” Dirty Heads released its second album Cabin By The Sea in 2012 followed by its 2013 acoustic album Home-Phantoms of Summer. New Politics In the late 2000s, Danish indie rockers David Boyd, Soren H and Poul Amaliel formed the band New Politics. The group combined blends of pop, rock and electronic dance music and quickly became known for its high-energy sets. In 2009, the group signed to record label RCA and released its self-titled debut album in 2010. Two years later, New Politics released their sophomore album A Bad Girl in Harlem. Big Data Big Data is a paranoid electronic music project from the internet and was formed out of a general distrust for technology and The Cloud. Helmed by producer Alan Wilkis, Big Data aims to explore the relationship between man and machine, and how the internet has reshaped the human experience. Joywave In 2010, vocalist Daniel Armbruster, guitarist Joseph Morinelli, bassist Sean Donnelly, keyboardist Benjamin Bailey and drummer Paul Brenner formed Joywave. The group had produced its first mix tape 77777 in 2010 followed by its 88888 mix tape and the group’s EP Koda Vista. In 2013, Joywave signed to Hollywood Records and released its debut album How Do You Feel Now? featuring singles, “Somebody New” and “Tongues.” .
