The proceedings in these cases, which were entered on the Court's General List on 4 November I960 under numbers 46 and 47, were joined by an Order of the Court of 20 l\fay I96r (South West Africa, Order of 20 May I96r, I.C.]. Reports I96I, p. 13). Two Judgments have been delivered, the first on 21 December 1962 (South West Afri'ca, Preliminary Obfec#ons, fitdgment, I.C.]. Reports I962, p. 319), and the second on 18 July 1966 (South West Africa, Second Phase, Judgment, I.C.]. Reports I966, p. 6). The page references originaHy appearing in the pleadings have been altered to correspond with the pagination of the present edition.
