Reports have it that for over the last two years, officials from the Archdiocese of Boston have been meeting on a regular basis to strategize plans to decrease the existing 291 parishes down to about 150-160 larger parishes. The North End model appears to be the future of the Archdiocese’s plan for mega-parishes. The North End once had four parishes and is now down to one, St. Leonard’s Parish with four different worship sites.
