In 1983, the bandana challenge was developed to encourage campers to set goals while participating in camp activities. As campers accomplish their goals at camp, they are awarded points that lead to the reward of a Camp Thunderbird bandana. On the last night of camp a special ceremony takes place to recognize the achievers of red, blue, silver, gold and double gold bandanas. Each summer, campers build upon their past accomplishments to work toward the next level bandana. www.campthunderbird.org YMCA CAMP THUNDERBIRD One Thunderbird Lane Lake Wylie, SC 29710 P. 704 716-4100 | 800 732-3855 F. 704 716-4101 Email: [email protected] YMCA OF GREATER CHARLOTTE www.campthunderbird.org ymcacharlotte.org YMCA Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
