This month, we are taking part in an exciting NYC event—Make Music NY. There will be music all over the city. We will be at 96th Street & CPW and at 96th & Broadway. Take a look at the blurb on page 2 and the flyer on page 7. All free and all fun. The weekly sea music concerts will also start this month and there will also be a Chan- tey Sing, and a Sacred Harp Sing. Don’t forget to keep the festival listings so that you can plan your summer. Thank you to John Mazza for compiling the list this month and last month. We have some sad news. Woody Kozin passed away in May. He and Marilyn had moved to Florida, but always made time to join us when they came up North. He will be missed. Eric Levine also passed away after a long illness. Whenever I saw him, he was always cheerful and urging people to make music. (See page 21.) Thank you to the folks who mailed out the newsletter. They could always use more help. The following volunteers worked up at the last mailing: Isabel Goldstein, Eileen Pentel, Anne Price, Brenda Pena, Marcus Tieman, and Don Wade. Won’t you join us and help mail out the next newsletter on July 3? (See above.) Volunteer(s) needed for the Falcon Ridge Festival, Hillsdale, NY; July 24 to July 27, 2008. We have tickets, which include admission and camping for a club member who will be willing to hand out the Folk Music Society of N.Y., Inc. material—newsletters, flyers, etc. Call Eileen Pentel at 718-672-6399 for more information. - 3 - Folk Music Society of NY Information The Folk Music Society of New York, Inc./NY Pin- NEWSLETTER INFORMATION (ISSN 1041-4150) ewoods Folk Music Club was started in 1965 and is DEADLINE: the 14th of the month prior to a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational corporation; an publication (no Aug. issue). affiliate of the Country Dance & Song Society of America; a member of the Folk Alliance; and a mem- Publisher: Folk Music Society of N.Y., Inc., 444 ber of the NY-NJ Trail Conference.
