MAY 5, 2019 3Rd Sunday of Easter

MAY 5, 2019 9 3rd Sunday of Easter Today’s Readings: 906 You may have noticed the construction work being done the past few weeks at the east end of our parish property next to the shelter. What will soon be completed is an outdoor shrine dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi. Funding for this project comes from memorial dona- tions honoring Bob Lahiff and his daughter, Tracy. The 78-inch statue of Saint Francis will stand atop a stone pedestal, with a background of yew trees. A large concrete pad will invite folks to ap- proach the statue, and two 6-foot long benches will welcome people to be seated and stay a while. The space will be illuminated at night. This shrine area is right off the Angel Falls Trail, and it is hoped that walkers and other visitors will come and make it a place to relax and to meditate. A blessing ceremony for the shrine has not yet been scheduled. We look forward to the addition of this space for prayer adjacent to our refur- bished shelter. Father Bill The church is open every weekday from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM for personal prayer.
