Prints must be mounted and preferably matted. Maximum overall size for print and mount may not exceed 16”x20.” Prints must also be labeled on the back with name, title, and category. Competition Definitions: Street Photography: Street photographs should be about people in candid moments in public places. The primary subject is people, at rest or in motion, along or with others, going about the every-day activities of life. The emphasis is not on the subject’s personal identity, as in portraiture. And, unlike photo journalism, there is no news here, rather the commonplace. Street photography does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment – could be the beach, the woods, a park, a school, etc. No architectural, wildlife, landscape, animals or cityscape without human interaction. At Work: We are looking for photographs of people at work; feel free to be creative. Judge: Jürgen Lobert Jürgen Lobert is a Massachusetts-based fine art photographer born and raised in Germany. He received a Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry from Gutenberg University in Mainz before moving to the US in 1991. Jürgen is a self-taught photographer who specializes in night photography and daytime long exposures as well as urban exploration. According to Jürgen, there is a profound peace in roaming the nights in remote places to capture otherworldly, hauntingly beautiful and serene scenery and the ele- ment of time. Jürgen is an executive committee member of the Boston Camera Club, organizer at the Stony Brook Camera Club and the founder and organizer of the Greater Boston Night Photographers Meetup group. He organizes some 50 photo excursions and workshops each year and he is a lecturer, instructor and judge for regional camera clubs.
