Senior Leadership Team - Jumeira Baccalaureate School Seior Leadership Tea Dr. Bruce Robinson Principal An Australian national, Dr. Robinson holds a doctoral degree from the University of Nebraska in Educational Leadership and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of New England; he is also a Fellow of the Australian Council for Educational Administration. During the last 13 years he has led three prestigious international schools in India, the United States and most recently in Vietnam. All of his headships have been in International Baccalaureate (IB) schools. The schools in Boston and Saigon also taught the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Dr. Robinson has extensive experience in teaching and leadership at all levels including the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic and operational plans. Yvette Jeffrey Primary Headteacher Yvette’s career as a school leader started in 1999 when she was appointed Deputy Head of Whaley Bridge Primary School before her promotion to the headship of Taxal and Fernilee CE Primary School, also in Whaley Bridge in 2004. She became Head Teacher of Piasau School (a Royal Shell company school) which in 2009 was accredited as an IPC school at Mastering level. Since 2011 Yvette has steered the school through its transition into the Tenby School of Miri when Shell started to wind down its school operations. Yvette holds a BA in European Studies and Spanish from Wolverhampton University, a PGCE from Loughborough University and the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) from Manchester University. Georgina Williams Deputy Primary Headteacher Georgina was Key Stage One (KG2 – G1) Leader at Dubai British School from 2005 – 2010 and is a founding member of staff with Taaleem. Having graduated with a BA Honours degree in Education and Media Studies from Trinity College, Carmarthen, she commenced her teaching career at Hook Junior School, in Hampshire. Her enthusiasm for teaching then led her to New Zealand, where in an innovative school; she explored using the Reading Recovery Programme and focused on using 'creativity' across all areas of the curriculum. Georgina joined JBS from DBS in 2010 and was appointed as our first Primary Deputy Headteacher in September 2012. Erika Elkady Secondary Headteacher Erika holds a Master’s Degree in History, and American Studies. She worked at the International Secondary School of Eindhoven (ISSE) in her home country, The Netherlands, from1996 to 2007 where she taught MYP and DP History. In 2004 she became the ISSE’s acting MYP Coordinator until she moved to Uptown School in Dubai in April of 2007 where she was appointed MYP Coordinator. In August 2008, Erika also became the Deputy Head of Uptown High School (UHS). She joined JBS in September 2011 as the Head of Secondary School. Under her leadership the school became an authorized MYP, DP and IBCP school. Erika has been an MYP consultant for the IB since 2004. Clare Kelly Deputy Secondary Headteacher Clare took her first degree at the University of Surrey where she studied Environmental Studies and Geography. A Civil Service career at the Department of Environment followed, before she joined the private sector which culminated in a spell with the Dow Jones Corporation. Having taken her PGCE at Oxford, she moved into education, teaching Geography, with successive appointments as Director of Studies and Assistant Head before leaving the UK to become Assistant Head (Curriculum) at Repton, Dubai, where she also taught ICT. Since joining the teaching profession, she continued to study part time at Oxford where she took both a PGDE and MSc. in Professional Development in Education. Imad Nasr Director of Arabic After completing his degree in Arabic Language and Literature as the first in his class, Imad completed his teaching diploma and PGDE at the Lebanese University. He started his career at La Cite Culturelle in Beirut, teaching Arabic as a first and second language, before he was promoted to become the head of Arabic Curriculum Development at the same institution. His first move overseas took him to Muscat as a teacher of Arabic at the International School of Choueifat, where he later became Head of Faculty. Prior to his arrival JBS, Imad was Head of Arabic, Social Studies and Islamic studies at the Ruwais campuses of The Glenelg School of Abu Dhabi, while also completing his Masters.
