ESF COMPUTING CONFERENCE Invitation to the ESF Computing Conference To whom it may concern, The ESF Computing Conference, a two-day event which aims to introduce ESF secondary school students to computer science and programming, will be taking place at South Island School on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29. The event consists of talks from Hong Kong-based technologists, programming workshops, and a programming competition where ESF students can collaborate to solve everyday problems using technology. We would like to invite students from your school to attend the event. Attendees will be missing lessons on the Friday, however will be required to have their teachers sign a consent form allowing them to miss class to attend the conference. If you would like your students to attend our event, please share the below information with your student body including a link to our website (esfcoco.com) where students can register for the event. Aberdeen, Hong Kong Schedule: Friday, April 28: 8:20 AM - 8:30 AM: Doors open, registration 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM: Introduction to event, talks from speakers 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Snack break 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Talks from speakers 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM: Programming workshops 1:30 PM - 2:10 PM: Lunch break 2:10 PM - 4:10 PM: Programming workshops Saturday, April 29: 9:45 AM - 10:00 AM: Doors open, registration 10:00 AM - 10:20 AM: Introduction to hackathon 10:20 AM - 12:00 PM: Hackathon begins 12:00 PM - 12:40 PM: Lunch break 12:40 PM - 1:30 PM: Hackathon resumes. 2:30 PM - : Product showcase begins. 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Snack break. 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: Hackathon resumes. 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Hackathon ends, presentations and awards ceremony. Recommended ages: Year 7 - 13 Transportation: Attendees must make their own way to the conference.
