--- LPP SPECIAL MEETING RESOLUTION NO. 2020-007 EXPRESSING THE LEAGUE’S SINCEREST GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (DOH) LED BY SECRETARY FRANCISCO T. DUQUE III, FOR TIRELESSLY LEADING THE GOVERNMENT’S RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19) PANDEMIC IN THE COUNTRY ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHEREAS, the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) headed by the Department of Health was convened as early as January to lead a whole-of- government response and formulate a national policy relative to the COVID-19 global pandemic; WHEREAS, the Department of Health (DOH) led by Secretary Francisco T. Duque III has been working tirelessly in providing policy guidelines and measures to treat cases and contain the further spread of COVID-19 in the country; WHEREAS, Secretary Duque has been coordinating closely with the Local Government Units (LGUs) who are the frontline of the fight against COVID-19 to ensure that policies and strategies relative to COVID-19 are effectively implemented at the local level; WHEREAS, the DOH has been continuously supporting the LGUs by providing assistances and by attending to their concerns such as the deployment of nurses to local hospitals, immediate assessment and accreditation of isolation facilities and laboratories, the use of rapid antibody test kits to initially diagnose and isolate possible cases of COVID-19, among many others; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, that the League express its sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the Department of Health led by Secretary Francisco Duque III, for tirelessly leading the government’s response to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID- 19) pandemic in the country; DONE this 28th Day of April 2020 during the 2nd Special Meeting of the League of Provinces of the Philippines held online.
