Scope of Bid 1.1 In connection with the Invitation for Bids indicated in the Bid Data Sheet (BDS), Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K RIDE), a Joint Venture of Govt. of Karnataka & Ministry of Railways, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Employer’, issues these Bidding Documents for the Procurement of Works as specified in Section 5: Works Requirements. The name, identification, number of contract(s) are provided in the BDS. 1.2 Throughout these Bidding Documents: (a) the term “in writing” means communicated in written form and delivered against receipt; (b) except where the context requires otherwise, words indicating the singular also include the plural and words indicating the plural also include the singular; and (c) “day” means calendar day. 2. Source of Funds 2.1 The required funds have been sourced by K RIDE, unless otherwise specified in the BDS. 3. Corrupt Practices 3.1 The Employer requires that bidders, suppliers, and contractors observe the highest standard of ethics during the procurement and execution of such contracts. In pursuance of this policy, the Employer: (a) defines, for the purposes of this provision, the terms set forth below as follows: (i) “corrupt practice” means offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting, directly or indirectly, of anything of value to influence the action of any party in the procurement process or the execution of a contract; (ii) “fraudulent practice” means a misrepresentation or omission of facts in order to influence a procurement process or the execution of a contract; (iii) “collusive practice” means a scheme or arrangement between two or more bidders, with or without the knowledge of the Employer,
