These officers must meet the Department’s and State of Florida’s annual retraining / certification requirements. Reserve and Auxiliary personnel are required to volunteer a minimum of 16 hours per month. They perform a variety of functions for our Department and community which are outlined in the chart below. Particularly they assist full-time personnel at community events or special duty functions (requests for an officer to be assigned and compensated by the outside vendor) and during significant weather events such as hurricanes or flooding.
