I pass by the track and can’t comprehend the races are happening right there, right now. The meet is on. No people, no traffic, no noise, no nightlife, no sale, no bands on Broadway, no Siro’s, no jockey karaoke, no Marylou! I want to go over in the morning with Trish, have a coffee, visit with our friends, ride around with my brother, heckle some riders, bust some chops. Find out all that’s right and wrong in the world. 800-523-8143 I want to go to the races in the afternoon. I want to handicap with my buddies. I want to get tips from everyone. I want to pay $7 for a lemonade and $12 for a burger. I want to join Sean Clancy and The Special crew for Closing Day. Heckle everyone. I want to hear you yell, “Hey, Macgluggin.” Unfortunately, it’s not to be. instead I’m outside the fence looking in.
