Took out his trainers license in 2006, went out on his own in 2014, a protege of Todd Pletcher (who was a protege of D Wayne Lucas), He trained CITY OF LIGHT to win the Pegasus Invitational G1 SW Ce Ce G2 SW Smooth Like Strait Indiana Derby winner Axelrod Pat Day Mile winner Rushie Gamely winner Illuminant Kilroe Mile winner Ohio and now, this early in his training career, has won the Preakness w/a 25-1 colt. And, NO, I would have never picked him! Good race by Medina Spirit, regardless of all the crap going on around him. The Japanese horse was nothing but an annoyance! 1-Rombauer / 1:53,62 2-Midnight Bourbon 3- Medina Spirit 4-Keepmeinmind 5-Crowded Trade 6-Unbridled Honor 7-Frace Go De Ina 8-Risk Taking 9-Concert Tour 10-Ram I think it is safe to say that this will go down as a very mediocre field. Not quite as bad as 2017 (Cloud Computing), but .... The horse that I think looked the best in the post parade was Midnight Bourbon. He seems to have blossomed since the Ky Derby. Maybe we'll see him and the winner back for the Belmont but as for the others, I think they'll seek softer competition. So disappointed in my own Risk Taking. Guess the Wood Memorial finish should have been taken seriously. As for Concert Tour, even Mike Smith couldn't rouse him.
