Picture: Supplied THE political rumour mill went into overdrive today when a Sydney radio host suggested Julie Bishop and Malcolm Turnbull had arranged a secret meeting in Sydney. 2GB host Fordham took to Twitter this afternoon claiming that Bishop and Turnbull would be meeting at the Communication Minister’s house sometime today. “Interesting fact - @JulieBishopMP and @TurnbullMalcolm have arranged to meet at his Sydney home today,” the Tweet read. But the pair quickly fired back denying the claims. The Communications Minister even provided happy snaps to prove his whereabouts. “you need to improve yr surveillance! I am on the train to Tuggerah. PoliticsinPub Nth Wyong 2nite,” wrote. “No Ben. At 11.30 am I was not meeting w @JulieBishopMP - after a meeting at NBNCo I was waiting for a train at Nth Sydney,” he said. Mr Turnbull was heading to the Central Coast where he was meeting with local MP Karen McNamara. Just to prove his point he posted pictures from the train trip and one hugging a sign at Tuggerah station. “Arrived at our destination! @BenFordham looking forward to discussing broadband with Karen Mcnamara MP,” he said. Still not convinced, Fordham asked one more time for confirmation from Mr Turnbull. “At the risk of coming across as obsessed, can I kindly ask you confirm you did not meet Julie today? *ducks rotten fruit*” he asked on Twitter. The Member for Wentworth’s response was swift. “@BenFordham, you have to let this go. No I have not met @JulieBishopMP today and won’t unless she comes to the Dam Hotel North Wyong tonight,” he said. Ms Bishop also told Fordham his information was off. “@BenFordham @TurnbullMalcolm Wrong information!! In Canberra this morning flew to Sydney filmed by @channel9 now with @FionaScottMP” And once again Fordham wanted Ms Bishop to categorically deny the two ministers had met. “I did not meet @TurnbullMalcolm at his home - I even told you @Qantas flight I was on! So what’s the point you’re (not) making?” she replied. Ms Bishop obviously saw the funny side of the rumours, re-tweeting and joking with some who were mentioning the Fordham accusation. Eliot Oliver joked “FYI @BenFordham I did not meet with @JulieBishopMP or @TurnbullMalcolm this morning. #auspol #libspill” The Foreign Minister re-tweeted the comment, adding “Can you prove it?” She also retweeted Dylan Malloch who suggested Fordham should backtrack on his claims. “Might want to send a correction tweet about @JulieBishopMP, Ben,” he wrote. Ms Bishop jetted into Sydney this morning amid growing speculation over Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s future in the top job. While Ms Bishop ruled out challenging for the leadership earlier this week, and Mr Turnbull has said the PM should have time to recover, some Liberal MPs have called for change at the top. Former Howard minister Arthur Sinodinos is the most senior Liberal to speak out about Mr Abbott, telling Sky News his support for the Prime Minister was no longer ‘unconditional’. Backbenchers Mal Brough, West Australian MP Dennis Jensen and Queensland MP Warren Entsch have all expressed concerns about Mr Abbott. It is thought there would be a leadership spill when Parliament returns on Tuesday. .
