Der Merkurstab. Journal of Anthroposophic Medicine Der Merkurstab is the international journal for Anthroposophic Medicine, first published in 1946 in Stuttgart, Germany. While the rod of Asclepius relates more to the outer aspects of the healing process, the staff of Mercury (“der Merkurstab“) has stood for the more inner aspects of healing. The journal publishes articles related to different disease processes, case histories taken out current medical practice, as well as scientific work, scholarly articles and case vignettes from anthroposophic pharmacy, non- medical therapies, and nursing care. It also includes updates on scientific and research projects, interviews, conference reports and editorials. Anthromedics is published by the Association of Anthroposophic Physicians in Germany (GAÄD) and the Medical Section of the School of Spiritual Sci- ence, Dornach, Switzerland. Editorial work takes place in both Berlin, Germany, and Dornach, Switzerland. Vademecum of Anthroposophic Medicines The Vademecum of Anthroposophic Medicines is the primary reference for prescribing anthroposophic medicines, with information related to outpa- tient, inpatient and training settings. It includes detailed information regard- ing the composition, available dosage forms, dosing recommendations and approved indications. The project arose out of a detailed questionairre which was shared interna- tionally with anthroposophic physicians in 2006 and 2007. To date the pro- cess has gathered 2,300 reports from 274 doctors in 19 different countries. In the fourth edition 1,778 indications are presented, relating to 627 groups of medicines, accompanied for the first time with a systematic introduction and presentation of the therapeutic concepts which stand behind mistletoe ther- apy as well as other supportive medicines used for oncologic disease.
