The Chapter has been givnn credit for the guest speakers in attendance and for the vocations talks given by the members. I was pleased t read the excellent Citizenship observance ir the February minutes — this completes requi ment #8 on the Standard of Achievement schedule. Patricia, you did a fine job of recording tfc January and February minutes and I'm very happy to be working with you. It was great to read about the successful Financial Forun — this completes qualification #10 on Banner Chapter schedule. The November-December, January, and February issues of the bulletin have been received and listed on the chapter's records. I'm sure the members enjoyed reading each issue as much as we. didl I was also pleased to receive the excellent publicity on the Financial Forum and the glossy print. A favorable ruling has been received on our request that 33»1EF be classified in a manner permitting full deduction of contribu tions for United States income tax purposes; and deduction as charitable bequests for United States estate tax purposes. The rulings section of the Exempt Organiza tion Branch of the Internal Revenue Service has classified SaffiF as not a private founda tion, but one which is publicly supported operating foundation described in the IR3 Code, section 509 (a) (1). This classification is the same one accorded publicly supported organizations such as community funds, hospitals, churches, etc. Under it, up to 50% of an individual's gross income may be contributed and be a good deduc tion, and up to 5% of net income for corp. Any amount is still deductible for estate tax purposes, SBi-lEF now enjoys the highest and best classif cation ai^ilable to any organization. You need not hesitate to make or ask for contribu tions or bequests to SBilEF, no matter how small or large. Full tax privileges exist..
