I still remember that a few years ago when I visited Doha, Qatar, MCC was good enough to organize a reception and Eucharistic celebrations. Being the first socio-cultural association of Mangaloreans in Qatar, it really makes us feel proud and happy on this celebratory occasion. Completing 25 successful and fruitful years is certainly a milestone in the history of an organisation. Our joy is doubled and we feel proud to know that Mangaloreans working and residing in Qatar have played a pivotal role in building MCC step by step at a time when it was difficult for people to come together, form associations and hold programmes. MCC gave a platform for Mangaloreans to come together under one roof and bond even though they were far from their families and loved ones and felt alienated. It is indeed a matter of tremendous satisfaction to know that in these 25 years MCC grew from strength to strength and has emerged as the most vibrant socio-cultural club and has become the torchbearer of Mangaloreans in Qatar. Building an organisation from the scratch and that too in a foreign land where individuals and families are scattered in far-off places, is not an easy task. It is the farsightedness, dedication, determination, hard work and steadfast commitment of the founding members of MCC that has made MCC a formidable organisation with a membership of over 500 families. Continuing the zealous efforts of the founders and taking the organisation to greater heights is certainly a challenge which is possible only when the leader and his entire team works in tandem to achieve the desired goal. MCC was fortunate to have dynamic leaders and like-minded members who continued in the footsteps of its founders. It goes to the credit of the successive presidents and office-bearers of MCC that they took the mantle of leadership and led the organisation through their visionary approach. Kudos to MCC which is now celebrating its silver jubilee with pomp and splendour. On this grand occasion I congratulate MCC Qatar and all those who worked hard to make MCC a formidable force to reckon with in Qatar. Through its charitable acts of caring, sharing, bonding and reaching out to the needy MCC has won over the hearts and minds of Mangaloreans in Qatar. I Congratulate and wish the President, the Executive Board, Advisory Board all the happiness and joy for in these twenty five years putting all their efforts and with all the good works to unite the Mangaloreans here in Doha under the banner of Mangalore Cricket Club.
