Following a sensational tree lighting ceremony on November 22, Blink! enters its third year as Boston’s newest holiday tradition, continuing nightly with a synchronized light show that features more than 350,000 LED bulbs dancing to the music of the Hub’s beloved Holiday Pops. Catch the luminous, seven- minute extravaganza every half hour, seven days a week, from 4–10 p.m. In a giving mood? The Globe Santa and the New England Patriots Toy Drive are there to raise money and accept gifts for the less fortunate. ARTFUL SHOPPING Looking to jump-start your holiday shopping? Make a dent in your list at the seventh annual CraftBoston Holiday event at the Back Bay’s Hynes Convention Center December 5–7. Presented by the Society of Arts and Crafts, the country’s oldest non-profit craft organization, CraftBoston boasts ceramics, furniture, glass, jewelry, clothing and more by 175 of the world’s best artisans. Other highlights of the weekend include special lectures offering insight into the contemporary craft community. For those in a festive mood, the opening Holidays and Highballs cocktail party on December 4 from 6–9 p.m., which benefits the SAC, lets celebrants walk away with a one-of- a-kind, handmade tumbler once the evening is over. For more information and ticket prices, call 617-266-1810 or visit craftboston.org. A PIZZA THE ACTION Authentic Italian dining outside of the North End isn’t easy to come by in WHAT BOSTON’S BUZZING ABOUT Boston, with a few notable exceptions. Hoping to add to that list is Mast’ Restaurant and Drinkery (45 Province St., 617-936-3800, mastboston. 11.24.14 com). The name (a derivation of the Neapolitan term for “master of one’s craft”) and menu take their inspiration from southern Italy, so much so that the owners had a wood-fired pizza oven imported from Naples, Italy. Mast’ even boasts a chef hailing from that very same city. Local sensibilities are taken into consideration with the inclusion of a selection of raw oysters from the region. The main attraction, however, is the 900-degree oven, which turns out delectable pies in about two minutes. Lunch and dinner, along with late-night dining, are featured, along with a bar serving local and international craft beer, fine wines and creative cocktails. —Scott Roberto HUBBUB 6 PANORAMA MIDDLE PHOTO: FORD/FORLANO COURTESY OF SOCIETY OF ARTS AND CRAFTS HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS LOOMING LARGE, AND THAT MEANS A LOT MORE THAN increased Santa Claus sightings and an overload of twinkly lights.
