General 12.1 Football Record 12.2 Admission to Grounds AFL Canberra By Laws Page 5 AFL CANBERRA LTD 2009 AFL Canberra – Competition By-Laws DEFINITIONS For the purpose of interpretation of these Rules the following definitions shall apply: AFL means the Australian Football League Appeals Board means the Appeals Board established by AFL Canberra Appeals Committee means the Appeals Committee established by AFL Canberra Board means the Board of AFL Canberra Ltd Contracted Player means a person who is obliged pursuant to a contract to render his services as a footballer to a club provided that the contract has been registered with the board or other State League(s) as appropriate Controlling Body has the same meaning in these rules as it does in the laws of the Game as published by the AFL Division means grade of competition for AFL Canberra Disputes Tribunal means the Disputes Tribunal established by the Board Investigating Officer means the person appointed by the Board to investigate a charge laid by a Club or the Umpires Control board or a designated official of the Board Laws means the Laws of the Game as published by the AFL League means the controlling body of the AFL Canberra Competitions Permit and Match Committee means the Permit and Match Committee established by the Board Season means the period commencing two weeks before the first home and away match and ending two weeks after the Grand Final Football Operations means the administrators / staff appointed by the Board under the Constitution to administer the day to day operations of the League Unaffiliated AFL Canberra Under 18 Clubs means the junior clubs known as Marist and St Edmunds or any other club who wishes to enter a stand alone Under 18 team Area Administered by the Board means the regions of both the ACT and NSW AFL Canberra By Laws Page 6 AFL CANBERRA LTD 2009 AFL CANBERRA LTD COMPETITION BY-LAWS PART 1 – TITLE COMPETITIONS AND CLUBS These Rules may be cited as AFL Canberra Competition By - Laws. Any divergence from the application of these rules must be authorised by the AFL Canberra Board. 1.1 AFL Canberra Competitions Separate competitions may be conducted each season to determine the premiership in the following Competitions: a. AFL Canberra Division 1 b. AFL Canberra Division 2 c. AFL Canberra Under 18 d. AFL Canberra Division 3 e. AFL Canberra Division 4 f. AFL Canberra Women’s (ACTWAFL) The Competition appearing at (a) in Rule 1.2 is the highest Men’s Competition and the Competition appearing at (e) in Rule 1.1 is the lowest Men’s Competition. The Competitions in between have the intermediate relative rankings for the purposes of the Rules. Competition (f) refers to the Women’s Competition and for the purpose of this competition all Rules referring to Men’s Competitions are to be applied to the Women’s Competition unless otherwise specified in these Rules . 1.2 AFL Canberra Competition Awards In addition to the Premiership pennant, the winner of the Premiership in each Competition shall hold the following perpetual trophy until the grand final in the following season: a.
