The Beavers will face-off with NSIC foe Northern NORTHERN STATE State as well as Adelphi (N.Y.) and two programs transitioning from NAIA to Division II in Minot State and Sioux Falls. BSU comes into the weekend with a 3-1 record after finishing tied for first at the Blue Hawk Tourna- ment in Dickinson, N.D. BSU PLAYERS TO WATCH MOORHEAD, MINN. -Lindsey Weyer- 10:30 P.M. Senior Outside Hitter Lindsey Weyer is coming off a career performance at the Blue Hawk Tourna- 9/10/2010 ment in Dickinson, N.D. In four games, Weyer averaged 4.33 kills and 3.27 digs. Against Montana State-Northern, Weyer had 25 kills which ties for fourth for the most kills in a match in the rally MINOT STATE scoring era. Weyer had three double-doubles in the four games and hit above .500 in two games. Weyer comes into the weekend hitting .450 with 65 kills and 49 digs. -Brie Groskreutz- Senior Libero Brie Groskreutz became the Beavers’ all-time digs leader last weekend. Groskreutz 608 digs surpasses Lora Hilger. Groskreutz comes into the weekend averaging 4.93 digs per game. She also leads the team with seven service aces. MOORHEAD, MINN. RECORD SETTING WEEKEND 3:30 P.M. The BSU volleyball team had a record-setting weekend at the Blue Hawk Tournament in Dickinson, 9/10/2010 N.D. Senior Libero Brie Groskreutz became the career leader in digs at Bemidji State with 23 digs last Friday against Montana State-Northern. She surpasses Lora Hilger, who had 535 career digs. ADELPHI (N.Y.) Groskreutz heads into the Dragon Classic with 608 career digs. Lindsey Weyer also put her name in the record books with a couple single match gems from the weekend. Weyer’s 25 kills against Montana State-Northern ties current Beaver Nicole Olson for the fourth-best single-match kills mark in program history. The senior outside hitter also put herself in the ranks among the best hitting percentages in a single match with a .583 attack percentage against Dickinson State last Saturday. Nicole Olson made it a trio of Beavers to have a record setting weekend. Olson put her name in the top 10 of three categories. Olson’s 903 career kills now ranks 10th all-time. MCCANNELL TAKES OVER AT SETTER Look for junior Jessi-Beth McCannell to be an X-Factor for Coach Chadwick’s BSU squad this season. The native of Brandon, Manitoba will be looked at to step up at the setter position replac- ing Courtney Bitter. McCannell showed she can fill the role admirably last season in her one ap- pearance at setter. She exploded for a career-high 46 assists, while adding a season-high 13 digs for her first career double-double in the final contest of the season against Upper Iowa. MOORHEAD, MINN. 6:00 P.M. In her first weekend as the starting setter, McCannell tallied 162 assists for an average of 10.80 per 9/11/2010 game.
