Beef Breeding Catalogue 2019 - 2020 Breeding Stock for Sale Welcome to our 2019 catalogue, we live in interesting times with factors out with our control playing havoc with our markets leading to uncertainty and confusion in our industry. Our commitment to producing high quality hi-health cattle from forage based diets hasn’t diminished and if anything we are even more committed to delivering a product to the market place which is unique in terms of the way it has been bred, reared and fed. Taste tests of the progeny of the cattle we produce are on going and with the help of Macbeths butchers in Forres and our local abattoir in Dingwall we regularly have beef boxes available which sell like hot cakes to discerning consumers. This does several things for us, it gives us feed back on peoples tastes and preferences, it gives us a team a boost when we are low when our consumers compliment our product and it lets us sample the goods which is always a highlight! All of the livestock that we produce at Fearn are reared on a diet which is predominantly grass and forage, we do however supplement our bull’s diet with home grown cereals and silage throughout the winter. Our herds are BVD accredited and vaccinated and we have been Johnes accredited for 10 years at Fearn and 3 years in our Scott Farming Co Luing herd, which was founded in 2013 is now based on Nigg hill following our decision to restructure our farming in the county of Sutherland, watch this space for further developments. All bulls have been semen tested and vet checked by Kenny Johnstone of ScotVet Bull breeding Services and are ready for work. Located where we are we realise that we may be quite some distance from many of you but please don’t let that put you off visiting, why not book into our new holiday accommodation and stay for the week enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of the area or alternatively we can point you in the right direction for awesome local hotels and b and b’s.
