North Queensland Stadium Construction Notice 24 September

North Queensland Stadium CONSTRUCTION NOTICE 24 September 2018 Associated infrastructure works External services infrastructure works are continuing in support of the construction of the North Queensland Stadium as advised in our previous Construction Notice No. 7. Works including establishment of the underground water main service, re-establishment of pavements and landscaping are occurring in a staged process within the road reserves surrounding the Dean Street carpark, starting at Morey Street, running along Morehead and Rooney Streets and progressing south along Saunders Street to the southern end of the stadium site. Stage 1 is now mostly complete in Morehead Street and works are continuing along Rooney Street. These works will be continuing over the coming months with further detail on Stage 2, Stage 3 and Water Connection activities provided on the following page. Pedestrians and road users are reminded changed traffic conditions will be in place in the vicinity of these roadways while works are undertaken. For general information email: [email protected] or call 13 QGOV (13 74 68) Construction Notice #008 Stage 2 With Stage 1 nearing completion works will continue along Rooney Street into Saunders Street. The majority of works will occur away from the roadway. Some lane closures will be in place and this portion of the road will be clearly signed and speed will also be reduced to 40km per hour for the area of the works. Stage 3 Stage 3 will follow Stage 2 and will involve the completion of works in Saunders Street and the under-bore beneath the road. The majority of works will occur away from the roadway. The outside lane of Saunders Street will be temporarily closed for the duration of these works and the road will be clearly signed with speed reduction to 40km per hour. Completion of Stage 3 up to the under-bore is planned by the end October 2018 Water Connection Commencing in the last week of October, works will return to the roundabout at the intersection of Morey and Morehead Streets where the connection to the water main will occur. This work will require temporary road closures in vicinity of the roundabout as shown. Traffic signs and controllers will be in place. Residents directly affected by any water outages will be notified prior to the works occurring. Watpac will continue to provide regular updates as works progress and notify local residents and businesses of any major construction activities. No work will be undertaken on Sundays or public holidays without prior notice.
