BADGES You will receive your personalized conference badge at: Accreditation Office, Munich Security Conference, Prinzregentenstraße 7, 80538 Munich, starting Tuesday February 4, 2020 to Tuesday February 11, 2020, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (by appointment at [email protected]) as well as at the Press Accreditation in the “Einsäulensaal” next to the MSC Press Center at Residenz straße 1, 80333 Munich Thursday February 13, 2020 10.00 a.m. – 8.00 p.m. Friday February 14, 2020 7.00 a.m. – 8.00 p.m. Saturday February 15, 2020 7.00 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. Sunday February 16, 2020 8.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. The conference badge must be worn on the conference weekend at all times. Please report the loss of a conference badge immediately. ACCESS AREAS The press entrance is located at the back of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof and will be cleary signposted (see sketch). A security check is generally carried out before any entry to the hotel. You must follow the instructions of the security personnel and the Media Ops Team. Media representatives have access to the following areas of the conference: n MSC-Press Center n Press Pooling Area / Press Meeting Point Accompanied by members of the MSC Media Ops Team, media representatives can have access to the following areas of the conference: n Atrium n Falk’s Bar n Palais Keller restaurant n Bilateral Rooms 4 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 5 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 The presence of media representatives in the conference hall is not permitted. This applies to both the delegation press as well as individually accredited journalists. Due to a high-ranking event on Saturday (2/15/2020) the “Kaiserhof” of the Munich Residence with the Press Center is a security area. Please schedule sufficient time for a security check. Due to demonstrations, especially on Saturday from 14:00 – 15:00 pm, and during peak times, access to certain areas may be further restricted. MSC PRESS CENTER The MSC Press Center is located at the “Kaiserhof” of the Munich Residence at Residenzstraße 1, 80333 Munich (approx. 5 minute walking distance from Hotel Bayerischer Hof). A sufficient number of work stations is set up. Opening Times Friday February 14. 2020 8.00 a.m. – midnight Saturday February 15. 2020 8.00 a.m. – midnight Sunday February 16. 2020 8.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. Equipment & Services We offer the following services and equipment at the MSC Press Center: n Information desk n A sufficient number of work stations n Live coverage from the conference hall (in the original language with translation into German, English, French, Russian and Arabic) n Crossover points for image and sound signals (fed by our host broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) via split boxes) n Temporary stand-up positions n Wi-Fi n A selection of national and international newspapers n Selected publications by MSC content and partners n Lost and found office (Info Desk). Please note that the MSC cannot provide any hardware such as a computer, printer or telephone at the MSC Press Center. Catering Complimentary catering is supplied for journalists between 8 am on Friday and 2 pm on Sunday. Cold and hot drinks are available at the Press Center at all times. All meals are served on the 1st floor of the “Pfälzer Weinstube” which is located close to the Press Center. 6 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 7 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 PRESS POOLING AREA / The Press Pooling Area (Alkoven) at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof and the Press PRESS MEETING POINT Meeting Point (Sushi Bar) are used as information areas and general meeting points (pooling) for planned photo and press events. PRESS During the conference weekend, we provide you with the following opportuni- ACTIVITIES ties for press activities: n Press Conferences, HypoVereinsbank, seating for approx. 90 people n Press Background Talks, HypoVereinsbank, seating for approx. 90 people n Doorstep-Interviews, Atrium in Hotel Bayerischer Hof n An additional stand-up position for interviews or press statements is available in the Atrium next to the Information Desk. It can be booked via the Media Ops Team at the Information Desk. n One-on-One Interviews n 2 Rooms in HypoVereinsbank, space for approx. 5 people including technical equipment n Stand-up positions at Promenadeplatz (outdoor). You can receive current information on events and press poolings via the screens at the MSC Press Center, the MSC app and personal arrangements. If you wish to organize a press event (conference, meeting, photo opportunities, etc.), please contact [email protected]. During the conference weekend, please contact the employees at the MSC Press Center, Press Pooling Area and Press Meeting Point. We are happy to support you in planning, informing accredited journalists, and, if necessary, invite selected media representatives to the event. The MSC equipment at the MSC Press Center (plexiglas backdrops with conference logo) can be used for certain events upon request. Please contact the Media Ops Team for reservations and logistical details. 8 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 9 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 10 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 CAMERA POLICY Cameras and camera tripods are only allowed at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof for certain AT THE HOTEL events. These include, among others, meet & greet events in the atrium and other BAYERISCHER HOF important photo opportunities in the conference hall. You will be accompanied by our Media Ops Team on these occasions. Cameras may not be left unattended. Cameras, camera tripods, and equipment objects that have been left unattended will be removed immediately and may be retrieved at the lost and found office at the MSC Press Center. The camera policy applies to the following premises: Atrium: Cameras are not permitted in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof’s atrium with the exception of pooling events. Apart from these events, cameras only have temporary access for brief recordings (e.g. stand-ups or brief interviews) after consulting and accompanied by the Media Ops Team. Outside the atrium: Cameras may only be used for temporary recordings, interviews or stand-ups. Hotel entrance: The main entrance to the Hotel Bayerischer Hof must be kept clear. Stand-ups and image recordings may only be taken in designated areas (including those directly opposite the entrance). POOLING AND Picture and film recordings are exclusively reserved for MSC-photographers and RECORDINGS IN THE film teams, as well our host broadcaster the Bayerischer Rundfunk. CONFERENCE HALL The presence of media representatives in the conference hall is prohibited. The presence and usage of cameras in the atrium and surrounding rooms is also restricted due to fire safety and security concerns. On all conference days, photographers will be given the opportunity to make their own recordings of the conference hall for five minutes at the beginning of panels (via pooling). 11 56th Munich Security Conference 2020, February 14 – 16 Pooling for the delegation press will take place at the Press Meeting Point. If the official camera team of the delegation intends on recording a speech, this must be communicated to the Head of Media Relations in advance. Only one camera per delegation may be brought into the conference hall.
