Models eye beauty crown Maciu Malo Monday, September 26, 2011 MISS Lebanon, Salamouny Daniellemary is confident of being crowned the best supermodel in the world at the week-long World Supermodel Pageant competition at the Amanuca Island Resort in the Mamanuca Group. The 22-year old said she had been looking forward to today's event and was optimistic of her chances. "I am here for a purpose and I am confident I will win the competition," said Ms Daniellemary. "I travelled from another part of the planet to be here and I will do all it takes to win the crown. "I am also aware of the stiff competitions from my fellow contestants and it will be interesting how we battle for the top award this week." Ms Daniellemary said she had a hard time farewelling her parents before the Fiji trip because she was not used to long trips but she felt at home upon arriving at the Nadi International Airport. "I cried when I was told to come this far because I have been with my parents most of the time," she said. "But I was surprised by the warm welcome and the hospitality of the local people which made me feel at home. "This is my first Fiji trip and I really love this place, so beautiful, nice weather and friendly people." Likewise, Miss Philipines ,Brenna Cassandra Gamboa and Miss Australia, Casey Newport were also confident of their chances and so excited at setting foot on Fiji. Miss Gamboa said winning the supermodel competition had been her goal since leaving Manila. The 23-year old said she would give other contestants a good run. "All the girls are gorgeous and it will be a tough competition for me, but I am confident of being crowned the winner on Friday," she said. Ms Newport said she would not let go of this golden opportunity to be crowned the best in the business. "I will give my best shot and like all other girls I want to be the best," the 21-year old said. The 23 world supermodels and 12 crew members departed Denarau for Amanuca Island Resort yesterday.
