Sara Simasek, life skills, Bancroft Elementary, retiring with a final day of employment of June 30, 2019, and an effective retirement date of July 1, 2019. [11 years] Request for Leave of Absence Christine Friel, special education, New Garden Elementary, maternity childrearing leave beginning on or about September 9, 2019, and continuing through on or about November 3, 2019, in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable School Board Policy. Recommendations for Employment SUPPORT STAFF Kristen O’Neill, guidance clerk, Kennett High, beginning July 22, 2019. CERTIFICATED STAFF Michelle Barlow, third grade, Bancroft Elementary, beginning August 19, 2019 (LTS through the end of the 2019-20 school year). [Bachelor’s Step 1] FEES FOR THE 2019- The Board adopted the following schedule of fees for school events to be 2020 SCHOOL YEAR held during the 2019-2020 school year: High School Musical $6/student, $10/adult Fall Play $5/student, $8/adult Athletic Events $3/student, $5/adult Regular Dances $5 Homecoming & Winter $5/advance sales, $7/door Formal Board Meeting Summary - July 8, 2019 Page 2 of 4 Middle School Musical $4/student, $6/adult Regular & Holiday Dances $5 APPOINMENT OF As part of the District’s Capital Projects Five-Year Plan, the District will ARCHITECT replace and refurbish the high school stadium synthetic field, the all- weather synthetic track, and the tennis courts in the summer of 2020. The Board approved Architerra’s proposal for professional architectural services associated with the design development, construction documents, public bidding, and construction administration in the amount of $47,500. The District has a long-standing relationship with Architerra, PC dating back to the rebuild of the high school stadium, Legacy Fields, and the middle school baseball field. APPOINTMENT OF In accordance with Board Policy 608, Bank Accounts, the Board approved SCHOOL DISTRICT the appointment of the following institutions as depositories and the DEPOSITORIES & investment program for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019: INVESTMENT PROGRAM Financial Depositories Fulton Bank - General Fund, Capital Projects Funds, Activity Fund, Cafeteria Fund, and Trust Fund PA School District Liquid Asset Fund (PSDLAF) - General Fund, Capital Projects Funds, Cafeteria Fund, and Internal Service Fund PA Local Government Investment Trust (PLGIT) - General Fund Investment Program All transactions are to be in the name of the School District. All funds on deposit with banks are insured up to $250,000 by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation with excess funds collateralized in accordance with PA Act 72 and Board Policy 609. All funds on deposit with the local government investment pools are collateralized in accordance with PA School Code, PA Statutes, and Board Policy 609. Investments permitted are those defined in §440.1 of the PA School Code and specifically set forth in Board Policy 609. AUTHORIZATION TO The Board granted authorization for the administration to pay any bills that PAY BILLS DUE AND come due and to hire new staff that is budgeted during the month of August HIRE STAFF 2019, with the bills and new hires to be presented to the Board at the BUDGETED Regular meeting in September 2019.
