Lance’s activities include the following: For 1 year: Yearbook National Art Honor Society National English Honor Society For 2 years: Prom Committee IT Club For 4 years: Baseball Outdoor Club FBLA Pep Club Lance is an avid baseball player and has lettered for three years. He is a regular member of the distinguished honor roll and was a national FBLA qualifier where he placed second in the state in graphic design. Additionally, he is a completer in marketing through the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute. Outside school, Lance works as a landscaper and cares for lawns. Additionally, he is actively involved in his youth fellow- ship group and serves as a helper and server during church dinners. Lance volunteers at vacation Bible school and helps with volleyball at the YMCA. Lance enjoys travel baseball, fishing, lifting weights, spend- ing time with friends and family, hiking, and boating. He plans to attend Susquehanna University to major in finance and to play baseball. Gabrielle Moore The Business and Professional Women’s Club Girl of the Month for June is Gabrielle Elizabeth Moore, daugh- ter of Todd and Shelley Moore of Jersey Shore. Gabrielle’s activities include the following: For 1 year: National English Honor Society For 2 years: National Honor Society Prom Committee For 3 years: Pep Club For 4 years: Swimming FBLA Homecoming Committee Gabrielle has served as secretary of Pep Club and was the varsity swim team captain. Outside school, she serves as an acolyte and a communion assistant. Gabbie volunteers regularly as a lifeguard, swim instructor, age group captain, and for community clean-up projects. Gabrielle is an accomplish swimmer winning acco- lades such as the freshman of the year award, a varsity letter, the academic scholar award for swimming, break- ing a school record, and competing on the state level for two years in a row. Additionally, she participates in FBLA competitions receiving a third and a sixth at regionals and a first place at states. Gabrielle enjoys hanging out with friends and family, swimming, and biking. She plans to attend Pennsylvania College of Technology with aspirations to become a phy- sician’s assistant. News Years of Dedicated Service Come to an End By Brandon Ranck The time is upon us. The time that we all know as the end of the year. This year’s end is something special for a certain district em- ployee. Mr. Bruce Boncal will be retiring this year. He currently serves as the director of transportation, technology, and purchasing. Mr. Boncal began his career at the Jersey Shore Area School District in 1980, and worked as a business education teacher until 1997. In 1997, Boncal became the school dis- trict’s first instructional technology specialist (aka director of technology). In 2011, he picked up additional responsibilities and be- came the director of technology, transporta- tion, and purchasing. Mr. Boncal has a variety of favorite memo- ries here in the district.
