Your home for the entire week is Borgo La Pietraia, a collaboration between renowned Italian architect Nicola Pagliara LA PIETRAIA and the Scariati family. All rooms have fully modern amenities and a private terrace with a sweeping view of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Capri. The gated property is covered with lush Mediterranean flowers and herbs as well as pomegranate, fig and olive trees. Guests dine at the Borgo’s restaurant “FOOD” where local and traditional Cilento products are given a fine dining touch. Itinerary Day 2 Buffalo The Cilento coast is famous for buffalo mozzarella and Tenuta Vannulo is considered the very best in all of Italy. In the evening we’ll travel to the ancient coastal village of Agropoli where we’ll eat at pizzeria tucked beneath a staircase that only the locals know about. Day 4 COOK WITH A Meet the Baronessa Cecilia Baratta Bellelli who will lead us through a 5-course cooking class of regional specialities on her family estate Baronessa and farm. Learn to make handmade ravioli, Neapolitan style pizza in a wood fired oven and torta caprese, a very regional cake made with chocolate and almond flour. Afterward we’ll eat lunch in the Baronessa’s dining room filled with antiques and relax on her terrace and gardens. 4 DAY 5 AMALFI by SEA In the morning we’ll drive to Salerno to see the extraordinary new ferry terminal designed by architect Zaha Hadid. We’ll have a front row seat to the Amalfi coast as we travel by boat to the town of Amalfi. After a day exploring the Norman-Arab cathedral and the famous pastry shop Andrea Pansa, we’ll return to Salerno for the evening passeggiata and dinner in the old city. Day 6 ANGEL Caves AND SAN Lorenzo DI PADULA We’ll cross through the Cilento National Park to reach the Angel Caves at Pertosa where we’ll explore the grottoes and canyons carved by an underground river described in Greek mythology. Then we’ll visit San Lorenzo di Padula, the largest medieval monastery in Europe. DAY 7 Cilento WINE Tour the vines and meet the winemakers at San Salvatore, a Cilento vineyard that produces wines found at some of the best Italian restaurants in the United States including Del Posto in New York and A 16 in San Francisco. Spend the afternoon relaxing on your terrace before a final celebratory feast prepared just for us.
