C CBS College Sports Dating back to the program’s inception in 1947, Bemidji State has played just three games versus teams E ESPN hailing from “The Last Frontier,” but all three have come against the University of Alaska Fairbanks and BSU has never made a trip to the 49th state. The Beavers defeated the Nanooks 12-0 Jan. 3, 1982 and swept UAF, 9-6 and 4-2, Mar. 10-11, 1984 en route to a perfect 31-0-0 season and the NCAA Division II national championship. After Friday’s contest, BSU can mark another Division I opponent off its list of teams played. Of the 58 current teams competing at the major college hockey level, BSU has now faced 30.
