DESIGN GUIDELINES AND CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS Issued Jan, 2007 DESIGN GUIDELINES AND CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL PROJECTS FORWARD Page i FORWARD This manual is intended to provide an information guide to set standards governing design, preparation and submission of plans and specifications for construction of municipal improvements in Yellowhead County. It is intended for use by Developers, Engineering Consultants, Utility Companies and County Departments. These standards are provided to set out the “minimum” allowable levels to which the requisite improvements are to be built. In instances where the standards do not cover a particular situation or occurrence, good engineering judgement shall be used. All development shall comply with the requirements of Yellowhead County, all applicable Land Use Bylaws and Provincial and Federal legislation. No departure from these standards shall be permitted without the written approval of the Director of Infrastructure. The County shall be the final authority on any disputed plans. Minor revisions may be given verbal approval by the Director of Infrastructure, but a change order shall be issued to record such revisions. All completed plans, records and documents shall be submitted a minimum of 30 days prior to final design acceptance by the County.
