South Australia’s Emily Pickup takes on the world Congratulations to South Australia's Emily Pickup who played for the Australian Women's World Cup team at the 2nd Indoor Hockey World Cup, that was held from 14 - 18 February 2007 in Vienna, Austria. Emily became the first South Australian to be selected to play at an Indoor Hockey World Cup. Prior to the start of the World Cup, Emily also played in warm up matches in Europe and took part in a four nations tournament as part of the Australian team’s preparation for the World Cup. Emily is a member of the Adelaide Suns squad and will be playing in the Australian Hockey League (AHL) in 2007 when she returns from the World Cup. Two other South Australian's, Sarah Crook and Holly Evans, were selected in the preliminary World Cup squad along with Emily, but unfortunately missed out on selection in the final team.
