RenewableUK Recommendations - Technology Pathway The development of marine energy technology and industry is inextricably linked to two elements, which are required for the development of any energy technology industry. The first is the provision of public funds to de-risk private investment and to stimulate development. It is very important to remember that both the Danish wind and Japanese Solar industries benefited from roughly £1 billion of public finance [15].
