This report is prepared based on figures provided by the authorized laboratories on Central Government’s COVID-19 Portal. Because the laboratory report scrutiny and the availability of figures accordingly is an ongoing process, state cumulative numbers are subject to change.) Increase in the recovery rate: First COVID-19 patient was found in the state on 9th March 2020. From March to May 2020, following table compares the numbers of recovered patients. Some key observations: Recovery rate in the state is 43% Case fatality rate in the state: 3.37% Currently, 5,67,552 people are in home quarantine. There are 72,704 beds available in quarantine institutions and 36,189 people are in institutional quarantine currently. IV. Deaths: There were 76 COVID-related deaths reported in the state today. Nashik 1 Nashik-1 Pune 9 Pune-8, Pimpri-Chinchwad-1 Aurangabad 4 Aurangabad Municipal Corporation-3, Jalna-1 Latur 1 Beed-1 Nagpur 1 Nagpur Municipal Corporation-1 Other details of deaths: Out of the 76 deaths today, 45 were men and 31 women. 37 of them aged over 60 years, 36 were from the age group 40 to 59 years and 3 were aged less than 40 years. 51 out of 76 patients (67%) had high-risk co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 2362 in the state. Out of the total deaths reported today, 54 deaths occurred in the last two days and the rest are from the period 14th May to 28th May 2020. Out of the 22 deaths in this period, 9 were recorded in Mumbai, 5 in Navi Mumbai, 3 in Aurangabad, 2 in Raigad, 1 in Beed, 1 in Mira-Bhayandar and 1 in Thane. V. Lab testing details: Out of 4,71,573 laboratory samples, 70,013 have been tested positive for COVID-19 until today. VI. Cluster Containment Plan: As per the guidance from Government of India, cluster containment action plan is being implemented in places where clusters of patients have been found in the state. There are 3294 active containment zones in the state currently. Total 18,674 surveillance squads worked today across the state and surveillance of 70.69 lakh population was done.
